Will joined EHL Commercial Law in January 2017 on a Training Contract.
Originally having a background working with leading high street retailers in design and product development, Will changed career to join the Land Registry. It has there he discovered his passion for law, quickly rising to become a Customer Team Leader. He took his undergraduate degree part time while working and gained first class honours, winning the Harvey Ingram Prize for Company Law. He continued on to the LPC at De Montfort University where he gained a Distinction and was awarded the prize for the highest grade point average year one.
Will’s in depth knowledge of land law and practice has been invaluable in assisting commercial property transactions. He has experience of negotiating, drafting, and advising on commercial leases, option agreements and overage clauses. He successfully negotiated the removal of an overage clause on a large land transaction in Surrey, saving the developer a significant sum.
Additionally, Will has a good knowledge of corporate transactions, including share buybacks, asset and share sales and purchases. He has acted for a major high street lender providing securing company finance through debentures and cross-guarantees. He recently negotiated and completed the acquisition of a class leading transactional website and associated warehousing for a client in a time sensitive deal.
Eloquent and understanding, Will is able to explain complicated issues in everyday language and goes out of his way to provide a first class service. His approachability is greatly appreciated by his clients, as buying and selling properties or businesses can be very stressful – more so when doing both together.
